The contemporary Nook wireless ebook reader being produced by B&N, the worlds leading book shop with over 1,300 branches, looks set to lock horns with the worlds #1 selling digital books reader, the Kindle2. Though not long released, the Nook electronic book readers are searching to ruffle Amazon.com's feathers further by taking it on openly in a segment of the market-place, that up to yet, the Kindle 2 has dominated. Since it's unveiling, at the outset as the Amazon kindle then later in February 2009 as the Amazon kindle 2 , it has re-ignited the ebook reader device market place by offering a blend of ground-breaking features, through it's instant connect anyplace wireless networking and also the leading choice of titles available for download at superb, cheaper than the high street, price. No doubt after going through ebook reader reviews, buyers brought in to the concept in a big way and it is only recently that the rest of the business have woken up to the statement that this is the expectations of book buying. An so in the most recent few months we have had the revelation from Sony of their intention to join in the fun, with their shortly to be released Daily Edition, and the most recent press release from Barnes and Noble that their own contender, the Nook, will return to complete production very soon. There are no doubts that the Kindle is the device everyone is gunning for. And to be frank it's pleasing to see a little opposition in this market. Yes we have had the iRex iLiad but the ebook readers reviews disliked it because it was a little on the bulky side to be a revolutionary wireless reading device, just what the doctor ordered for office use with the 1:1 A4 imitation, but much like the Dx - another wireless ebook reader - not something you will wish for to take on holiday, or put in your purse or pocket for that matter, and it was by no means going to contend on cost was it? As a result now we have two sizeable companies prepared to go head to head, with the power of Amazon, on all fronts. Sony in recent times enlarged the magnitude of their store at the Sony-Store and reduced the price point of their digitally transported books to equal that of Amazons and hopefully B&N, who have at all times been in the matching ballpark price point wise, will match them title for title as well. But the major news for consumers has to be the move away from proprietary file formats utilized by Sony corp. in the initial days and still used by the Kindle now. To explain the situation I will make use of Kindle2 as an illustration, remember this is even now the case with the Kindle so it makes it clearer. More Readings
